We're celebrating two years of growth, innovation, and helping redefine what accounting should feel like in the digital age.
Created by co-founders Adam and Joshua, Layers was born out of a simple but powerful belief: while digital tools and automation can transform the industry, the heart of accounting will always be human. Two years later, that belief remains the foundation of everything the firm does.
Unlike traditional accountants who appear once a year with a set of year-end accounts, we build around on going involvement. The team works closely with clients year-round, answering questions, guiding decisions, and helping them make sense of the numbers behind their businesses.
Today, Layers serves more than 200 clients, employs a team of seven, and has expanded its reach across the UK. Locally, they work with a variety of businesses across Gloucestershire, including, Cheltenham BID, Gloucester Old Spot, Roots & Seeds, to name a few!
Fran Inman,Chief Executive at Cheltenham BID and a client of Layers says:
“We have been working with the Layers team for a good few months now and they have provided a consistently reliable and professional service throughout.
What sets them apart is their responsiveness and practical advice. Not only that, I wouldn’t class them as your ‘standard’ accountant – they go above and beyond to provide the best service and are a super friendly team. It’s essential to have a partner we can trust, and Layers have become exactly that.”
We operate with a mission that underpins every client relationship and internal decision:
“Present, every step of your journey. Helping you build financial success one layer at a time.”
Co-founder Adam Ginns, who has spent over a decade working across smaller boutique firms and larger multinational firms, explained:
“Over the years, I’ve shaped what I believe is the best way for accountants to work: with empathy, personality, and purpose. Technology has changed how accountants work, but it hasn’t changed why we work. We’re here to help people understand their finances, navigate their challenges, and build something meaningful.”
Over the past year, Layers has continued to deepen its roots with local communities.Highlights include running 5km every day throughout January and hosting the firm’s first-ever charity golf day, which collectively raised over £5,000 for a local cause. Alongside this, Layers launched a regular run club with other local business owners, further building a connection across the local area.
For Co-Founder Adam Ginns, however, the greatest achievement isn’t measured in numbers, but in the community that has grown around the Layers brand:
“Layers isn’t just a firm, it’s a community. I’m passionate about building a practice that supports its team, uplifts its clients, and brings a bit of fun into finance. Because what’s the point of running a business if you don’t enjoy the ride?”

As Layers moves into its third year, the we remain focused on:
